Why do side strakes take 3 hours to put on?

one of the biggest downfalls in the sidestrake install is that people use the wrong drill bit sizes for the two holes to the body. they are diff sizes! write it down. again, i've had these suckers on in my 1.8" lowered car been bumped around and they're still stuck on there nice and tight. Honda wouldn't have put these out if it sucked as bad as people say they are

as for the comptech sideskirts.. i used to like them, but no longer a fan. i don't like how it goes up behind the front wheel well. it'd be a better look if it just tapered at the end. kind of an awkward look. and fiberglass is just bad news on any lower valence

I have the OEM lip, side strakes and 04' rear wing. I had my Acura tech/friend do the install.

I like they way they look, and he took his time putting them on and doing them right.

And no, it didn't take three hours to do the side strakes. I believe it was just over an hour. It was the hardest thing to do, but definitely not a three-hour process.

I put mine on myself and it only took a couple of hours. Like WRS2K said, there are two different sized holes - make sure whoever istalls them knows this. I'd bet most of the owners who have had their's fall off have been because of the same sized hole being drilled...

The comptechs are now made out of urethane and about $100 cheaper than they were. They no longer sell the fiberglass version as of a month ago.

Speaking of side strakes falling off.... I looked at mine last week and sure enough the damn thing was coming loose......I pulled it off and looked at it...made adjustments to the fastener then applied superglue to the fastener. NO MORE FALLING OFF......

All this and you get holes drilled into the car. Eeeeekkk!

Who would do this willingly? I know.....its personal opinion.

On another note, I like the skirts Jason showed pics of.......but I'll stick to my plain ole stock look for now.

Are you SURE you want holes in your car?!?
