I modify my car because I want to personalize my ride...I want to have something that people talk about and that (At least in my area) Have never seen before...I cant leave anything stock, all my prior car's have had extensive modifications done, both to personalize the car to me, make the stand out from the crowd, and to (so to say) make it to the stop light quicker ...I have only have my car since March...and my mods go as follows

1st mod: Fidanza 8lb flywheel, oem friction disk and resurfaced OEM perssure plate (the trans was getting replaced and the instillation of all the parts only ran me 20 bucks ! I had to jump on that)

2nd mod: VooDoo satin aluminum shift knob (It lowers the throw by and inch...makes the shifter seem tigher to me...and you can rest you arm on the arm rest without having your wrist at and aqward angle when you arm is on the rest and the shift at the same time...Plus I'm used to short shifters)

3rd mod: K & N air filter....(The oem was shot...and I decided I might as well put a beter flowing filter on while I'm at it)

4th mod: HKS Hi-power single outlet exhaust ( I had a once in a lifetime opertunity to trade my OEM exhaust for this HKS one THANKS BEARGUITAR!!!...It sounds great, a great weight savings from stock (Over 50lbs) and adds power ...cant beat that)

My next mods will be a top secret front bumper, carbon fiber hood, and rims....The only reason is because I had an accident to where all the parts have to be replaced (well the bumper and fender at least) and I decided I might as well make it look better then stock while I'm at it..I'm awaiting my check from state farm right now before I start going crazy with body parts

I have modded every car I have owned. I mod becuase it makes me happy. When ever I get a new mod I feel like a grade shooler that is about 5 minutes till the start of summer vacation.

I can remember the exact moment that I wanted to start modding my car. It was back in 1996. I owned my civic for two years and my girlfriend's brother brought home his brand new 4 door integra GSR. When I saw this thing I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. It was lowered with momo arrow's and a greddy exhaust. It was prefect in my eyes! lol From that moment on I could not stop modding my own cars.....

Unfortunately I just got my S yesterday so the modding has not started ....YET...

I mod just to be a little different from the crowd. I'm not one of the JDM uber enthusiasts like some of the Bay Area guys. I just wanted simple and clean.

1.Tein Flex + EDFC
2. AEM v2
3. Brembo Gran Turismo
4. HRE 546
5. Amuse Dual R1 Exhaust
6. Amuse Header
7. Some minor form of ICE (HU, couple of amps, speakers, S-pods, etc)
8. And some minor stuff, shift knob, Level mirrors, etc.

But I've been around a lot of modded cars growing up. Always wanted one of my own, instead of always the one outside looking in. I just wanted something nice to drive on the weekends to get away from the M-F grind.

I mod my car just to make it unique and not to pass myself on the street. Also, personally I had rather be adding something to the car than to be out driving it. Now if I could just find some $ I would order something else. It has been over 3 months now since I have put anything on it.

Sounds like I'm in the minority here, but I don't mod. I've always been one of those OEM guys for some reason. And I've always been searching for the perfect car straight for the maker... and I've found it with the S2k!

That's part of why I didn't stick with Miata's. I use to be obsessed with them. It was a little discouraging to see everyone else modding them when I didn't think I would. But once I got mine, I saw why they did. Because, honestly, it needed it to a certain extent. And there's a gazillion of them! A bare stock s2k like mine is still ultra rare in my area.

I just like the idea of not having to explain my performance to anyone. They know what an s2k can do. I don't have to explain what I've put into it. They can go back and read Road & Track or something

Yes, I'm one of those OEM weirdo's , but I guess I"m not too bad. I'm gonna get a hardtop someday. Might do the the black badges. As long as its honda
