Default Why do you squeak at me (S2000)?

Generally going slow around 5-10 mph on uneven roads I hear squeaking noises coming from the rear. It sounds like its coming from the suspension, Im positive its not the top covertible squeaking because I tested it with the top up and down and it squeaks in the rear part of the car still.

Anyone experience this?

Mine did that too. Open the trunk and pop the pannels out. Then remove the rear tire and you will see the rear shock pillars. Tighten the 2 shock mount bolts and see if that helps any. I think they are a 12mm.... The bolts on the driver side are a bitch to get to haha.

One other thing to check, if your seat is all the way back (both slid and reclined) then the seat back rubbing on the back wall of the cabin can make a squeaking noise

I had the seats forward to make sure it wasn't the seats making the noise. The noise is driving me nuts, I'm about to fork over $$$ to Honda just to get rid of it.

Thats what mine was; it drove me nuts until I figured it out.

Ours has the same problem. I jacked the car up and silicone lubed every rubber bushing I could see to no avail. A local member suggested the rear A arm bushings may have binded and to take the bolts out and reposition them.

I opened the trunk and was jumping up and down on the lip to hear the noise and a lot of the squeak went away after that. I'll probably take the wheels off this weekend and see if the A arm bushings need to be adjusted.

Also i'm getting an alignement later today @ honda and i'll ask my mechanic if he has any ideas.

yes has been happening to me since i put my coilovers on.

but its been hasnt been happening lately, ever since i went on some rough canyon spirited driving.

im going to take out my suspension in the rear, and also lube up all my bushings, etc. and hopefully it would be completely gone.

does anyone have a picture or a diagram, or something of which points to use the silicone on? thanks.

Anyone find a clever way of eliminating the squeaky noises from the seats rubbing the back part of the cockpit?
