Why does everyone hate the s2k?

But when they knock your S2000, ask them what THEIR redline is? Tell them it has a higher piston speed than a Formula 1 car.

Yeah man...you are in SoCal.... probably the most S2000 dense area in the country. Just go to a meet and hang with S2Kers.
By far the best "car community" I've ever been around.
I think people who hate because this person drives something and this other person drives something else are always going to trying to find fault in others to hide their own. It's that simple. They're not enthusiasts, they're just messed up kids and their mommy didn't give em enough hugs when they were younger.

next time you should show the kbb value of a 240 and r32 to these peasant friends of yours
KBB of S2K - 20G's
KBB of 1990 Skyline or 240 - -$139 and a beating for you for being so stupid.
Fanboys will be fanboys...

i think the next time i have an encounter i'm going to shoot back very offensive insults that have nothing to do with the other person's car. just because i'm tired of their BS
Nobody is going to care that piston speeds are faster than F1, and nobody cares that redline is 9k or any of that. These people only care about straightline speed. The S2k isn't a fast straightline car, it's only moderate. 6spd v6 accords are about as fast. The 240 guys can get their car cheap, and make it WAY faster for a small amount of money.
These people see that our car is expensive, and that we can not hang in the street races. That is why they think it's lame. And most people that drive the car "in the twisties" aren't that good of drivers anyway.
Think about all the people who come onto this forum and ask if everyone actually revs to redline? Some people actually shift at 7500 and are scared to bang shifts. These are the people that get 15 sec. 1/4 mile times at the strip. Everyone notices and that's why they don't like the car.
It doesn't matter what they think really - I'm just giving an explanation as to why they think this way because that is what the OP asked.
You may be thinking "but we're as fast as the new V8 mustangs and can hang with the 350Z!!!" Yes, this is true, but only if those cars are stock. If you put some bolt ons on those cars they rape the s2k. Our cars can get faster, but think about the parts most everyone buys - ones that don't do ANYTHING in terms of making it faster. Cold air intakes? no power worth mentioning. Dual exhausts like comptech, mugen - they do nothing worth mentioning. These people see our cars, lowered, with wheels and exhausts, and we can not hang with the other cars that get modified.
