I went test driving potential successors to my S/C'd S2000 Saturday. The candidates are:

- AP2 S2000
- Elise
- C6 Z51

I test drove each one. The C6 was by far the most powerful, handled well, was most comfy, yet least desirable. Why? It felt too big, had a cheap looking interior, and felt relatively isolated from the road.

The Elise is a great alternative to FI'ing a S2000 if you can handle the cost and lack of practicality - that car frickin' rocks!

I've ridden on track in a viper driven by a good driver on Hoosier slicks. "Pretty good" is one of the understatements of the year. That guy could put that car anywhere he wanted on the track, make it stay there, and then shoot away with at least double the acceleration of my S.
thank you. seriously.

as far as this thread goes........i could have bought a Z06 instead of modding my VR4 and gotten the same straight line speed out of it.......but i like my car. i built it and im happy with it.

plus....nobody expects a 4000lb 15 year old mitsubishi to be this fast

Well, what about the guys that go FI on 'vettes? Why not just get a Viper?

What about the Viper guys that go FI? Why not go Ferrari?

Some people are just going to mod whatever car they have.

The S is also about 300 lbs lighter than a vette. Adding power to a lighter car makes for a fun driving experience, no?
The S2000 is about 300 lbs lighter than a C5 Z06. The C5 Z06 already HAS 150 more RWHP than the S2000. It's also lower and wider with wider tires. It's quite a bit of fun too.

Dude, that won't help. It's just so, so, well, AUTOMATIC!

I LOVE the Mod red interior on the 'vette. I am SO glad that it wouldn't look good with my exterior color though. It keeps me from dropping $$$ on an interior swap. (Doing that for the S2000 was expensive enough, thank you very much. )
