I think the AP1 looks horrible without the OEM Lip. It looks incomplete. The front looks higher than the rest of the car. The OEM lip evens it out.

OEM lip was my first mod on my last S. The new one came with it or it would have been the first mod as well. New one actually came with sideskirts and a rear lip and I took them off

No side strakes here BTW, like mentioned before they look like an afterthought add-on, the front lip sits at almost the same level as the side of the car

I didnt like the look of the lip at first, but its grown on me. I personally dont like the side strakes. Looking at the the car from the side, The front as well as the rear look a bit higher then the sides of the car. Not sure how that could be adjusted, besides changing to another rear bumper. So from what I can see changing the front lip doesnt quite balance the car because you still have the rear being a bit higher. To each his own, I am still toying with the idea of getting a front lip nonetheless.
