You need to look at what you need.

Do you NEED the extra seats? If so don't get an S2000!
Do you NEED the "prestige"? If so don't get an S2000!
Do you NEED a roof? If so don't get an S2000

Do you WANT wind in your hair? If so GET an S2000!
Do you WANT fun driving? If so GET an S2000!
Do you WANT an individual car? If so GET an S2000!

DO you WANT a BMW? If so GET A LIFE
(sorry had to have a dig at the end there)

It always baffles me (and amuses me to no end) how many people come to an S2000 forum to ask if they should get one as opposed to a (insert name of other car here). Do they actually think there will be responses like the following:

"This is one fugly car. 2 liters? I can blow more volume with my lung on 1 breath. 9K rpm? Kinda like a sewing machine. I hate the fresh air experience. There's no trunk space. I hate that I only have 2 seats. And the noise @ 9K? Gawd, it gives me a headache. The 6 speeds give my carpel tunnel syndrome a panic attack. I can't sit in the seat for more than 12 hrs at a time. I hate that nobody looks at me when I drive this thing. Birds seem to use the car for bomb runs. And the price I paid for this Honda? No bang for the buck what-so-ever. I got hosed. I am a complete idiot for buying this POS."

ps. Have you posted on the BMW forum? What'd they say? I don't suppose they drop kicked the bimmer in favour of the S? Are you surprised? No surprises here either. Most people here who own this car will respond to this kind of thread in favour of this car. Duhhh?!

pps. Don't take offense. I'm just having fun.

I guess my reverse psychology worked, huh?
Looking forward to seeing pics of your car and more future friendly banter.
Please don't take offense, I'm a bit of a smarta$$ now & then but I mean well.

If you "need convincing" maybe the S2000 is not for you. I LOVE my baby! Good luck.

I am completely in love with both cars but I can't bring myself to spend $32,000 + on a Honda even though I am a Honda owner already. I need some convincing if anyone can help please write me back.
Sorry, the S2000 has more prestige. Try taking a S2000 and 328 to a hotel or resturaunt valet, and see which one gets parked up front.

how about the S2000 listed in Carpoint's "Top Sports Cars List: Image Is Everything"

http://carpoint.msn.com/Browse/win_4019369.asp

If you aren't already sold on the S2000 after a test drive and learning about its' engineering, then you should not buy one. Honestly.

Don't worry about it xviper I never take anything personally. My main reason for posting the question was 2 find out how passionate everyone is about their S2k's & I think I got my answer. Will post pics as soon as I get it!
