Default Why so many problems????

since i am an import fan I have to say that the S2000 is the phattest car for the money...and I really wanna buy one but Im starting to get kinda scared.

1. Weak clutch/clutch going out prematurely
2. Differential problems
3. Back firing? WTF! is that all about
4. Broken axles (maybe these are just the S/Ced guys not sure)
4. Other stuff I haven't hard about yet

Now the only reason I am wigging is because these are really big problems that will leave you stranded on the side of the road and/or cause you a lot of embassment. Anything that you would like to add to the list please do so peeps can know what to expect.

all symtoms of abuse more than likely than not.
Under "normal" conditions, it is a great car. I would say the only downfall is lack of space.

Agreed. Plus the car is only a few years old; and being a sports car, well, it's a given
they're going to be driven more spiritedly from some drivers than most. I actually took
the 7-year/100,000 mile warranty just because it is a newer production car. On my other
Honda Civics and Accords I never did, because after many years of production, those cars
are basically hassle-free.

A trouble free car does NOT make for "good press". But if you have an issue, then it shows up on this board. Take all the times you read about a problem and consider how this compares to all the cars out there owned by people who don't have any problems, who aren't on this board, who don't overly abuse the car and I think you can see how small a group it really is.
Just for kicks, I started the following thread last year. Have a read.

The only valid point on the list is a weak clutch. The rest of the things only happen if the car is abused. The car isn't perfect, but it's worth it to live with any imperfections it might have. I've had mine for two and a half years now and I still get excited about driving it.
