Mine is SCed. No 7000 rpm launches. Do a 9000 VTEC from time to time. Car has never been back to dealer. However, I'm sure I could break the clutch and differential with a little persistence.

The only valid point on the list is a weak clutch. The rest of the things only happen if the car is abused. The car isn't perfect, but it's worth it to live with any imperfections it might have. I've had mine for two and a half years now and I still get excited about driving it.
I think you never had grinding when shifting gears, cause if you had you had you'll never said that !!
I am not a ( car abuser ?? ) and i definitely know how to shift ( All my cars had manuel transmission and never had this kind of problem with my other cars....unless if i miss a shift !!! Nobody's perfect )
And this car have a bad syncros design or whatsoever cause i'm not the only one who complain about the grinding and i'm sure that this problem is not always related to a miss shift !!!

I would also like to add rear diff. locking up (posted here) and dude wrecked his car
2. Lots of clicking noises (shifter, tranny...etc.)

Would it be wrong of me to say that an S2000s tranny sucks ballz?

The 2000's and 2001's have known issues with their transmission. 1 to 2 Gear Grinds, buzzing noises during deceleration, etc. Most of these tranny issues has been fixed via TSB's. The 02's have the updated tranny and shifting is a bit smoother.

The other stuff mentioned is what happens when the car is abused and abused hard on a constant basis. The rear diff will break if you constantly do clutch drops at 9K RPM's. I will blow the engine if you overrev it. These things will happen if you abuse it, just like any other car in the market.

I've had my 01 for 17,359 miles when I traded it in last week (traded it in for an 02 S and also because it was rear ended in an accident) and I had ZERO problems with my car. I performed all the regualr maintenance and took care of it. I drove it hard but not hard enough to be considered abuse. In other words, I wasn't dropping the clutch at 9K RPM's at every light and racing up and down the streets of Miami.

As for the #4 Cylinder Issue, I believe if you check your spark plugs regularly when you check your oil, it won't be a problem.

The S is a GREAT car, you won't regret it if you decide to purchase it.

The problem with internet discussion forums is that people who don't have any problems don't post about it. They are out driving, having a good time with a car they don't have to worry about.

Overall, you get more gripes than gratefuls in the postings. It's not just the S2000 forum; in the 15 years I've had access to public computer forums this is one of the Laws of the Internet. In fact, it's probably a law of democracy. The minority have to shout to be heard because the majority don't care.

Overall IMHO the S2000 is one of the more reliable high performance convertibles out there. It's not as reliable as an Accord, but then it's much more highly strung, and as such will have a greater frequency of breakdown.

Destiny's poll: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...=&postid=831342
has more or less confirmed what I and others have said earlier in this thread. If you look at the poll results, you'll see that about 73% of those who voted are in the top two catagories. I don't consider the second catagory as being significantly different from the first one so I lumped them together. Every brand of car (even Lexus) will have an issue or two that gets fixed right away. It would seem that the vast majority of owners who voted, have had no pressing problems with their cars. And I would think that there were more people with problems bothered to vote (percentage wise) than those who have none (like has already been mentioned, they're out driving around having a great old time and can't be bothered to vote - why care if you have no issues?)
