8k mi in 10 years, sad.

Overpriced too, even with the HT.

People buy cars for different reasons. What is 'sad' to one guy is brilliant to another.
I agree with Gigdy - I was told the same story when I bought mine (5000 made a year to be sold for only two years to celebrate Honda's birthday). People that didn't need another car bought it as toy and potential future investment.

I bought my showroom condition AP1 with 15K miles almost FIVE years ago for $19K.

I don't think the S2000 will become a collectors item for another 10-20 years...only then will values start going up on mint cars.

When I was shopping last fall I looked at several 00-01s with 10-15,000 miles and they were all in the neighborhood of $15k. The 02 I ended up buying had 12,000 miles and was nowhere near $24k.

Highly unlikely this guy gets more than $20k.
Highly unlikely he get's more than 15K sadly.

I know of another 2000 for $17K .... without the hard top. It only has 16K miles, but that's way too much IMO. He may get lucky and get 13-14K

My .02

The S2K will never be "collectable". To many were produced. That's not to say it will ever be forgotten.

The only S with a chance of becoming collectible is the CR imo - it was the only version really built in low numbers. For a few thousand more than what the seller is asking, you can get a new CR, if you can find one.
