Default Will the S2000 continue to be produced for much longer ?

Hey guys, I'm a newbie here and this website is nice and very informative. I've always had a thing for the S2000 ever since its inception but being a college student and being limited in my financial capacities, I own a 2000 EBP Honda Civic Si. Btw, I frequent ClubSi.com and noticed some of your members post on there too. My question is, does anyone know how much longer the current S2000 model will stay in production? It has been rumored that an S2200 in coupe form will be produced with a 2.2 L - just not too thrilled at the prospect of a coupe with a heavier engine with only 10 more hp at that! Thanks.

Rumor has it that 2004 will be the last year, but no one really knows. 2005 will be the year they convert to 2.2L, if they do.

I hope so! I would like it for the S2000 to have some collector value to it. Beside it's nice to only see very few on the road.

I heard there will be a second generation S car that will incorporate the introduction of the 2.2L engine.
What college do you go to. I attend C.W. Post. Seen a couple of EPB SI around campus, thought maybe one might be you.

I don't see too many S2000's around where I live on Long Island, maybe 3-4 times a week - I guess too much of a good thing isn't bliss. I've yet to see more than 1 with a hardtop as of yet.

nine grand - I attend Stony Brook University over in the boondocks of Suffolk County, though I commute everyday from the Dix Hills/Huntington area. Do you park the S2K on the CW Post campus? I have yet to receive any dents or dings on my Si (knock on wood).

When I bought mine in '00 sales person said they might build an '02. I believe they will keep building them as long as they can sell them and make a $$$$ or two.

I only drive the S around on nice days. I have a couple of beaters for the poor weather commute. I do have a couple of good spots on campus for the S. There are couple that are extra wide or in vacant part of a lot. Sometimes parking there is more trouble then it's worth.
I use the long doors of the S as a measuring stick. If my door can't touch them then their short 4 doors can't touch me.

Where have you been? Didn't you hear from your local dealer? 2000 was the last year of production. The '01, '02, and '03 models are just rebadged '00s that didn't sell. They did have to swap out a few items to make it look legit.
