Default Will seat removal trigger CEL or AIRBAG lights?

My 2005 is quite dirty from parking with the top down under a tree, leaves are everwhere and under the seat. I am thinking to remove both seats to do some major cleaning, but I am afraid it may trigger CEL or airbag lights to come on.

Can anyone confirm about this? I know its easy to take out (4 bolts is what i m hearing), but will it trigger any sensors?

Thanks.

Nothing will happen. I pull the seats all the time on all the S's i work on with no problem.

Good luck with the cleaning and be sure to use lexol leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats and dash!

I did a quick google and found someone had the problem with SRS lights after removing/putting back in the seats...

a side question, what's the best way to clean the 'gaps' and 'cracks' in the seats? I have much dust and sticky bread crumps looking thing in there and i tried using a paperclip and 'scratch' them out but not very helpful...

All you have to do is unhook the battery. That's all we do on any vehicle we install seat heaters or upholster seats, or have to remove seats period, from any vehicle. Hasn't failed yet.

The drivers side will be fine.I know this because mine is currently out to get one of the center leather panels replaced. Two leads you'll need to disconnect under the seat once you've removed the bolts.I've started the car several times since removal and the airbag symbol light is on ,but I believe it is just indicating because the leads are disconnected.

Now the passenger side I'm not certain on. Performed a search sometime back and was led to believe that if you disconnected the battery before hand there would be no problem. Just not sure and didn't persue it any further because I have no reason to remove mine at ths time.
