The drivers side will be fine.I know this because mine is currently out to get one of the center leather panels replaced. Two leads you'll need to disconnect under the seat once you've removed the bolts.I've started the car several times since removal and the airbag symbol light is on ,but I believe it is just indicating because the leads are disconnected.

Now the passenger side I'm not certain on. Performed a search sometime back and was led to believe that if you disconnected the battery before hand there would be no problem. Just not sure and didn't persue it any further because I have no reason to remove mine at ths time.
How is this 'fine' when you have proven that the light will come on after the removal of the seat?

Because the light is indicating that the air bag is disabled. Same as it would if the harness had parted or had a faulty connection that I didn't disconnect knowingly.Otherwise the system would have no failsafe.

so you have just confirmed that the light will come on after the removal, but we dont know if the light will go away after you put the seat back in..

Did this on my 05' when I detailed it over the summer and had no problems at all. Just be careful not to scratch stuff when lifting the seats out.

On my 2007 I took out both seats just fine. I was even able to drive it. As soon as I put the seats back in, it was normal. Just as the above mentioned, the light when on for the passenger seat because of the airbag sensor. Turned off when it was plugged back in.
