Damn that estimate seems high. Sorry to hear about what happened to your car. If you can find an NSX repair shop in your area, they should have no problems matching the yellow. After all, it's the same yellow that's on the NSX.

If the paint is not broken I would have a PDR guy take a look at it. If they can't fix it you can always go with replacing and painting the door.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I think that your biggest worry is getting the paint to match.

You should call and see if you can get a new door that is already painted spa yellow.

s2kbug,

You might be on to something with the PDR guy. I have one scheduled to look at it on Tuesday of next week. The paint is definitely cracked and there is realy nothing that can be done (PDR-wise) about that. However, I would be semi-glad to get the sheet metal straightened out and find a way to hide a paint blemish. What do you guys think?

I guess my biggest concerns with the body shop alternative are:

1. Paint matching
2. The DOT labels on the inside door panel and rear 1/4 panel would be removed (A dead giveaway that the car's been repainted)
3. The removal of the convertible top black strip over the rear 1/4 panel (which may not go back on just right)
4. And least importantly, my insurance premium rising.

So considering these possible problems, I'm going to have the PDR take a crack ***NO PUN INTENDED *** at it. I will post an update on this as soon as this happens.

BTW... If the PDR gets the sheetmetal straightened out, is there anything I can use to elegantly seal the paint crack to protect the underbody from the elements?

Thanks to all for your support. -KM.
