At any rate, it's no big deal for me and not worth a trip to the dealer to have it fixed.
I agree that it may not (probably won't) last forever, but mine has come back, and works right everytime since returning from the dead a couple of months ago. I have seen others who referred to similar phoenix-like recoveries, so maybe I (and others) will get lucky! I agree that it is not worth going to the dealer if this is your only gripe.

I don't know about this "self-healing", but I did notice that when mine was malfunctioning, it would nevertheless work correctly for a while (?) if I ran the window up and down manually a few times. Of course, an auto-down function isn't too useful if you have to run the window up and down manually a few times first to get it to work.

TSBs should be effective whether or not your car is in warranty, I would think.

i went to the dealer and complained about this problem as well. i left the car at the dealer and went home, and guess what they told me after six hours: "we can't duplicate the problem." i had told them it was an intermittent problem, but i guess they don't know what that means.

then a few months later, i went to another dealer with the same problem, but again, i got the same reply. i said there is a service bulletin on this, but they said they never heard of it...

so my car's window still doesn't go down, and all that the mechanics at the dealers tell me is, "for auto down, push it down all the way until it clicks." duh.

does anybody have a printed copy of the service bulletin??
