Default Windshield Replacement

I had my cracked windshield replaced today.

The cost was as follows:

Glass - $226.00
Adhesive - 18.00
Reveal Molding Seal - 65.52
Labor - 85.00
Tax - 23.67

Total Cost - $418.19

This repair was done in my home garage. The technician was very careful, and took about two hours to complete the job. Everything looks good so far, but of course, only time will tell.

My complete maintenance log may be viewed at: http://s2000.home.att.net/s2000/maintenanc...ce_expenses.htm

Does it have factory tint at the top?

I don't understand why the S doesn't have any factory blended tint at the top. It drives me nuts.

Is that "reveal molding seal" that rubber thing that goes around the outer frame edge? I take it the old one cannot be re-used?

My new windshield is a PPG Solex Duplate (FW2151), as I requested. The installation company claimed that it was OEM, but without the Honda name; whatever that really means. In any event, it is what I wanted, and it appears to be the same as the original windshield.
