Well I clean out the hoses as best as I could and I also cleaned out the sprayer with the needle I can see clear down into it while everything is disconnected and see a shiny Part kind of looks like a spring. As far as I can see there are no further blockages but there was a lot of gunk that was coming out of the hoses while disconnected and pumping fluid through the hoses. I'm not sure that I am able to aim the sprayer in the direction that I want it because it is Metal and seems to be non adjustable. So fluid comes out of the house just fine but not the sprayer.

Is there a safe procedure to unclog the sprayer without damaging the paint.
How about any tips to clean out the hoses?
Thanks in advance!
I've tried multiple times to clean these things and it almost never worked. Finally realized that the washer fluid that the dealership was using was leaving behind a white, mineral-type residue and clogging up my sprayers. I actually had to change out my whole reservoir because it was so bad.

Finally switched to a better washer fluid and no more problems.

If you don't get anywhere with cleaning (like me), you can order new sprayers. $13+shipping from HondaPartsGuys.

So it was calcium build-up that you were not able to clear with a small sharp object?

I wonder if that is my problem too... Hmmm... I still haven't tried anything since my last post... Lazy, and not really motivated to try since my car generally does not get dirty enough for me to ever use my windshield wipers...

I should try to take care of it during the holiday break though...

You can clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner. If you don't have one ask your neighborhood jeweler to clean them.

I sat next to a guy a few years back on an airplane who makes/design those nozzles. I had no idea what went into them. I always thought it was an inert hole/nozzle but it is not. It is designed to vibrate some unbelievable frequency to generate the required pattern and volume. That is why jamming a needle into it may not always bring about the best results. It screws up the precision nature of the nozzle.

First, see if the hose is connected, and clear. Just disconnect it and see if it gushes when you activate the sprayers.

If the hose is fine, you might start with a toothpick and see if the nozzle is clogged with crud.

If that doesn't work, try compressed air.
Thanks! i'll try that!
Weird...I have the same issue... Bought the car that way...

Driver's side nozzle is clogged...passenger's side nozzle is fine...

I haven't taken it all apart to try and isolate the problem...mostly because it is not my daily driver, and the car never sees rain, and is never dirty enough that I need to use the windshield wiper fluid... I should root cause it at some point though...

How strange - I had the exact same issue. Driver's side only and I also bought the car that way. Is this a common problem?

Last time I had the car in for an inspection, the mechanic unclogged it for no charge, so it must have been an easy fix.

I had a dash cam unknowingly record my mechanic doing the state inspection. He cleaned out my passenger nozzle using compressed air. It had not worked for years. Now it works great.

Mine left sprayer has also been plugged up for as long as I've owned my car (4 years or so). This thread finally got me off my butt to fix it. I just popped off the hose and squeezed the tabs on the sprayer to remove it from the hood. I soaked it in alcohol and blew compressed air through it both ways a bunch of time. It also took a little poking with the pointy end of a #11 blade to get some of the stubborn gunk out. Now it works better than the other jet! I'll have to do that one soon.

Interesting method... I like this idea... I wonder if a vinegar mix would do even better than alcohol... Vinegar seems to cut through a lot of dirt and debris build up on many household cleaning jobs... I wonder if vinegar would damage the paint though... Vinegar seems like a gentle, yet powerful cleaner... Any opinions on this as an option?
