Windshield tape reoved only to find damage!!!!!
Last night I decided to remove the windshield tape on my Yellow S. I had a bad feeling about it, but I like it better without the tape.
Well needless to say when I removed the drivers side tape, there was a dime size scrap. It appears to go all the way down to bare metal. The passengers side looks good though, and I didn't even bother doing the top yet.
Well I guess that's the extent of the story, I guess now all I have to do is figure out what the hell to do now.
Any suggestions????

Dude, don't freak out...just get it painted. This is an easy thing, the cost is minimal as well. Trust me, you made the right decision, the yellow cars look MUCH better without the tape, even if you have to paint it...no big deal, you'll have your car in and out of the shop in no time.

ahh good luck! cuz the tape isnt cheap, and spa yellow is extremely hard to match.. i took my tape off not so long ago and i found that the finish was lighter and it had a few scratches. but i took it to the dealer and a service rep is gonna look at it on tues. i'll keep ya posted..

guys i think i now why they put the tape there in the first place, some place on the assembly line of the s2k there must have been a piece of metal which hanged to low and scraped up several of the early s2ks winshield, so instead of having to paint them up again, they decided to just put tape on all of the s2ks....
The S2000 engineers that we met with in Tokyo said the tape was to give consistency to the look of the color with the top.
I can't imagine how hard it would be to replace the tape. I wouldn't even try it. I would take it back to the dealer and tell them that the paint was damaged before you picked it up...
Good luck!
