Winter Car = Faster than S2K
Well,
I took the winter car out to the track friday night.
2002 40th Anniversary GTP Coupe..
Pulled off a 13.85 @ 99.80 w/ a 3.4" pulley, a re-pro computer, 160 T-stat, and a open cone filter setup... I was pretty impressed, so were a few others. it is a 4000 lbs car with me in it!

Yes, it's supercharged. These cars don't pull off beter than low 14's with those mods actually. They are not intercooled. Heat soak is a bitch.
I still miss my S2K, I am convinced I could have gotten it to run a 14.0 with some better driving experiance.

That is pretty damned good for a front wheel drive (no limited slip either) car!!! it must have been about 50F to help out.?
I would imagine if you ran a 14.4 in the S2000 it was much hotter outside.? I ran a 13.9XX in my S2000 in 75F weather.

The temps were 71 when I ran that pass. The temps with the S2000 were about 80. I had drivin stick for 3 weeks when I ran that time, so thats why I'm convinced the car would have gone much faster. It had a trap of ~97, so it had the balls for a low, low 14.
Always liked the gtp's.....But lets be honest your comparing apples to oranges..........On a twisty road 4000lbs and automatic = BUNK!
But the gtp is a nice sleeper....strip those badges ....Change to a single outlet exhaust and go and do some mustang hunting! Hmmmmmmm I need a winter car to......Wonder how much i can pick one off those up for? Also When did they start making the 240 hp version and anything to be wary of or check for that the gtp is prone to....i.e. oil leaks...compression...loose steering?
