Hello to all. My 2004 AP2 center console parts are very worn out. As you can see I have sanded down the piece between the roof/hazardd switches. But the sliding cover I haven't done yet. I can't find these replacement parts anywhere so I figured i would DIY it. Any suggestions as to how to finish this job? In black would be fine. I do not want to use a wrap.
Thank you.
I noticed you sanded the black part as well. You can disassemble the silver pieces and sand/paint them properly. Here's my 2004-05 console done in textured black,
To disassemble those pieces, you first need to remove the center console from the car. First remove the shift knob and gently pop off the center console from the car(I start from one corner of the elbow rest). Once the console has been popped off, you would then unclip the harness for the buttons. Finally you would start undoing the screws to remove those silver pieces(make a mental note of which screws came from where as some are shorter).

Looks great! What kind of paint did you use for the textured look of the black?
Mine is worn as well and I've been trying to find a replacement. Only center console parts still made that I've been able to come across were for the CR.
I know both your switch panel and sliding cubby are a bit beat up, so this won't exactly help 100%, but for anyone who just needs the switch panel, Mita is doing a repro for us. Looks solid so far. Available in both black and silver:

When I saw this thread, I looked at my switch panel (original owner 2005 AP2 with 160k miles) and it was really grimy. I first tried to remove the grime with my fingernail, and actually put slight lines into the top of the switch panel (barely noticeable). Then I sponged it off, and it looks almost perfect. I do like how the black reproduction looks, though there's less contrast to see the button to release the sliding top to the cubby. However, the button has a different texture so not a big deal. I went to Mita Motorsports' website. I discovered that the part is on "sale" from $100 at a pre-order price of $80, but they add another $35 for shipping! Mine is not worn enough to justify purchasing one that looks the same (or the labor to get to swap it out). But changing it to black does look cool!
