You might check the code book for your area. Where I live, hard acceleration can lead to a ticket for exhibition of speed.
After doing some research about the area where I live (also known as The Netherlands ) I could not find any law against fast acceleration.
But I think "they" will get you for "endangering yourself and/or the public"

If they catch you

Btw.. we Dutch citizens are allowed to exhibit just about everything
So why not speed?
(speed as in motion, not the chemical one.. then you need grass.. not the green stuff on your lawn.. although stuff may be the wrong word again...)

Nice long on ramps and toll booths, but never from 1st, usually after I shift into second. The exhibition of speed ticket has a lot of gray area, but the rule of thumb is that if you break traction with your tires then you're guilty of this.

our utter lack of torque keeps us from falling victim to that, unless you intentionally rev up and dump the clutch

I've heard of people getting "Exhibition of Speed" tickets just for revving their engines. No "speed" involved. Like you said, a LOT of gray area.

Every weekend. The car needs to exercise too!

(Note: I only drive the car in weekends)

I know that I'm probably wrong, but I like to think of our cars like RX7s, they need to be revved up regularly, sort of like part of the maitenance .
But yeah, a lot of gray area, but I find it next to impossible to chirp third (maybe I'm not trying hard enough, but then I don't want to try harder) as I have yet to do this feat, lol.

Racer brings up a very good point! Even simple reving your engine would be enough to lure the tampa pork into throwing every single driving charge at you. In areas you know are camped, be very conservative because you know how we get cherry picked outta the crowds. I just won against a citaion afew months ago because a cop said i was peeling out..... and truth was he was apart of a pork farm (speed trap) and was facing the oppositie direction, a mustang goin the other direction was infact the one who did the squealing of tires, so the cop turned around and just picked me. He looked really good in court.... case was thrown out in about 5 minutes and i filed a nice police misconduct report on that looser.
