Or RWD? Unlike other cars in its segment: Genesis, FT-86, Mustang(?)
This. It was one thing to make a "hot hatch" when sports cars were all really expensive in the 90s, but now you can choose from a number of great affordable sports cars - why go with a turbo Civic when you can buy a real sports car for the money?

On a side note - not impressed with the "fresh" design - it looks like a mild refresh.

I totally agree.. Great point. Civics, Tegs etc. were far cheaper than rx-7, Supras etc. The starting price of 370zs are freakin cheap for what you get. Also the AWD options aren't bad. Let alone the Mustang's new developments (better quality and MPG)

I have a hard time beleiving the Mustang can give you 300k miles without changing the engine.
Better quality is one thing, but bullet proof reliability is something else

Now if you tell me "who cares" about putting 300k miles......... I don' tknow how many ppl can afford to change cars every 5 years or so, especially $30k cars. Unless they lease them........

Probably. Doesn't matter either way.
Sorry, but my wife drives a Civic. You can rice it out all you want, even from the factory. I'll stick with my S2K. ALOT more fun. RWD, convertible, it even looks good! Civic is ok for a DD sedan. Even if the Civic's performance is top notch, I'll still take the S2K any day. Just my $0.02 worth.

Ever since 2001 and on they have come out looking like crap! I especially cannot stand the little side windows on the front driver and passenger side, reminds me of an old volkswagen design. I had a 99 civic si before the S and loved that car; the civic is a good car and I would buy one again if they got the design decent...but I would never replace my S with one for sure!
