Which would you buy?
For a DD the '04 is much more cumfy without any headaches. Those tien's even on full soft will get old fast.EDFC are good when they're working right but when they're not=headache #1.Pull the center console and check the fuse which isn't blown, and then wonder why it isn't working or throwing error code?Did the motors on the shock wind up the wiring? Better hunt down that short.Get the '04 if it's in good shape.Get some sticky tires and an aggressive aligment,it'll handle like a champ. And call it a day.

I have to bring this up, but: There's usually always a reason someone is selling their car, usually a reason other than 'I need cash fast'... just be careful with the 01 since it's FI... IMO...
Course, with the act clutch/flyw/pp and an os giken lsd mine runs great and will probably go over a 100k no problem,I use it for autox. But them is some big ticket items,my friend
Save your money for the usual repairs.Doesn't matter if it's a woman or a car,if it makes u broke u'll wish it would just go away
same as most others, you never know how a SC car has been treated, think of it this way, somebody had to "install" the SC and more often than not that installer had to "test" it... and so you don't know who's been in that ride and what's been done to it, unless you test it (compression & what-not) i'd go with the 04, but again, get it checked out by a mechanic as well, make sure it's not been beaten to death either, take a good long look at both cars, check out the interiors, take them both on a test drive, it's your car, get what you want
Buy built - let someone else take the hit assuming you're looking for a supercharged car.
I kick myself for buying "stock" and throwing thousands into it - had I just bought a built car - which is what I eventually want mine to be - I would be ahead thousands with a lot less headache. There are so many well cared for and loved cars out there that owners grow out of or move on from - I have no problem buying modified because of this.
The ones I am leary of are the ones you know were modified then put back to "stock" - leaving things like painted brake calipers, CAI, wrong wheels, etc. behind as clues - like this one.

As long as you can thoroughly inspect the SC car then I wouldn't be too concerned. There are always a lot of boosted cars for sale, and not just because there is something wrong or it's a ticking time bomb. A lot of FI owners like the build itself and then get bored and move onto something else.
That said, I got burned by buying a SC car sight unseen. There were a lot of things half-assed and not disclosed that cost me a lot of money to correct. In the end I didn't save any money, live and learn I guess.
Good luck with your decision, NA will always be safer. If you are one to worry about every little thing then that will be the way to go. If you want FI, it makes a lot of sense to buy one already built provided things were done the right way.
