Don't hate on it just because you wouldn't like it for yourself.
That's not why I hate on it. I hate on it because the whole marketing concept and execution is freegin lame. Here you have a unique little car that has experienced declining sales virtually every year, so in an attempt to breath a little life into what could very well be its final year they make something that will appeal to an even smaller group of people. Yea, that makes sense to me...

I love my Honda products, but I seriously worry about the companies vision towards the future.

that's pretty harsh considering it's the same car you drive with a few parts that can easily be swtiched out.
That's my WHOLE POINT!

Why pay more for a car and let HONDA do the modding?

I'd rather have ALL the car and mod as I wish... then buy less of the same car that Honda proudly modded and put a "CR" badge on.

It's the same engine.... No matter how you slice it.... it's the same engine.

Put as many front bumpers, ridiculous spoilers and ST deletes as you want... it's still the same car with less OEM options, appeals to an even smaller demographics and will cost more.

Sorry but you're not going to have double chassis gauge here n here on your list of things to do when you mod your ap1. Your not going to remove any sound deadening material off the chassis either. The fact is that we don't kno how much the car is going to cost. So how can you be so sure that you're paying more to let honda do the modding? BTW I think alot of people wouldn't mind the head start that the CR is going to give you.

If they were the same price, which they shouldnt be, Id want the one with the soft top just because....

If the hardtop only was cheaper, I would go hardtop since I never plan on having the hardtop off, and the soft top up.

What he said. If they are same price may as well buy the one with the softtop and just remove it yourself and sell it. If the HT only is cheaper, I would buy it because I don't like convertibles. That's why my s2k got a HT 3 weeks after I purchased the car.

that's pretty harsh considering it's the same car you drive with a few parts that can easily be swtiched out. The hate for the CR you guys have is really pretty stupid. Honda obviously built it with the idea that it's not going to appeal to everyone. That's the main idea with the car. That's why it comes with a/c as an option and no soft top. Don't hate on it just because you wouldn't like it for yourself. BTW, I'd prefer to pay the 2k less and buy the car without the softop (as long as the softtop was removed some what professionally with all the interior panels replaced).
I said the same thing in another thread. I happen to share the disgust in the CR, but I think it's funny that we gag a little when we see pictures and read about it since it is SO close to our cars that we love and would damn-near take a bullet for

I would definitely buy the soft top. I still don't see the allure of the hard top. I've had my soft top through the winter and with a little car it is absolutely fine. The noise doesn't bother me a bit because I don't drive this car for the little comfort details. I love being able to drive with the top down to the last minute before rain, or to raise the top when I passenger needs it up. Also feel better raising the top when I'm in stores or away from the car, then drop it to enjoy the sun!
