For a good clean, one owner car, purchased from the original owner, I might go $12,000.
But I would most say, keep the car you have unless you are shopping for a second car.

Milage is not the ultimate indication on the condition of a vehicle. I'd rather have something with higher miles that's been properly maintained (w/ documentation) than something with lower miles with suspect history.
With that said, you should keep the RSX for a while.

thanks guys. i needed some "talking out of it." when i get an idea in my head, it's hard for me to not run with it. funny how you're more prone to listen to complete strangers than your own girlfriend.

I don't think I'd consider it just because I'm infatuated with mileage (and it sucks, half the time I feel like putting tape over my odometer so I can just enjoy the car), but if you do even consider it you really need to get a thorough inspection done. Have the valve cover pulled, check the retainers, ask for maintenance logs of oil changes, diff fluid changes, put it through some hard driving and see how the trann shifts, etc. There are just so many things that can pop up any time with that kind of mileage that can be very costly. One or two major repairs and you'd be in the ballpark of a mucher newer s2k. If its an engine you'd be in the ballpart of an almost new s2k.
As others have said, if you want handling its a good upgrade. If you want speed a few thousand in mods should put you at the same speed or faster than an s2k!

lol I'm trying to catch up to the average # of miles my car should have. I bought it with extremely low miles and I use any excuse to drive the S.
