Default Would you rather...

I've been searching for the perfect s2k for me for the past few months and i've come to the realization that an ap2 with less than 50k miles is out of my price range. I've recently found a 2001 with 45k that is in great shape. Downside from my point of view is the vinyl rear window, less torque, and smaller wheels/tires. I don't care about reving to 9k, 8k is a big jump for me.

Assuming they both cost the same and are in a color combination you like which would you rather have?

I'm looking to spend around $12k and I need the car to last 3 years until it's time to carry around a carseat, and have a little resell value. I don't plan on doing many if any mods.

I know people have compared the extra 1k rev to the extra tq all day long. I'm not asking that question.

Mainly want to know:
- Do people who have recently purchased an ap1 regret it every time they see an ap2.
- Is the higher mileage of 85k not an issue at all with these cars (when purchasing a never modded car)

i personally like the ap1's better than ap2's. but 85k is not really high mileage. i bought my ap1 with 97k on it. its really personal preference to the headlights, tails, bumpers, cluster, center console. i love everything about the ap1's. but its all your decision on something like this. neither one of these is a bad option though.

edit: just read you were talking about an 01. i would rather have an 02 up ap1 or an ap2 over the 01's. i dont like the vinyl back window and a couple of other options that they improved/changed in 02. but you could always change it. lol

This.... look at it this way, all your mods come included with the AP2

Well I just bought my 2004 a few months ago. Car had 41,000 miles on it when I bought it. I too was looking at Ap1's also. I ended up driving both, and couldn't tell much difference. In the end I fell in love with Rio Yellow Pearl, so my choice was easy AP2. I also like the more aggressive body work and the 17" rims are so sexy.

I would get the 2001 with 45,000 miles. 85,000 miles is way to many. The lower miles will help with resale value.

And one more thing. You can always wait for a better car to come along, one with lower miles, etc. Took me 4 months to find mine. Be patient.
