You should have one of those thermometer type indicators that shows the amount we need for the site monthly and make it a donation type support.

It should be placed under the page links at the top of every page so you can't miss it.

Sure, no problem. This is one of the reasons I joined S2KCA. A part of that membership cost does go towards this, right?

First off, thank you Cthree for having such a wonderful site.

I am against a subscription based site. However, I would definately donate to your site. Just make it easy for us. I think many people would give $1 a week if they could! That's $52 a year! I know you're asking for $20. I think that all the owners here and maybe many lurkers are willing to donate because this site is just amazing. Its really the people that make it that way. This is one of the most enjoyable sites I visit and that means a lot! Who else can we bug about our cars and share in the enthusiam as much as we can do here? With people who can all relate.

I say set up a donation section. Recognize donors publically. Maybe a little banner that says "S2KI Supporter"? I think that would allow others to see who has given back to the board. Just like when you give blood and you get a little 'i gave blood' sticker.

From someone who enjoys fundraising, I like the idea of challenge and reward. I suggest you treat it more like a raffle and "sell" tickets, i.e. those who donate $x during the month qualify for a chance to win a prize. A shot at a $100 gift certificate or choice of a couple accessories would do the trick. Do one a month with different prizes each month. You might even cap the number of entries each month to increase the odds of winning.

I"d probably make several donations in a year for a chance at getting some cool stuff.

cthree, I saw this after the PM I just sent you (apparently one of many) suggesting subscriptions, donations or otherwise. I obviously voted yes. It's cheap information and entertainment in my book.
