which would you take, ap1 or ap2?

ap2.. everything that was wrong with the ap1 first years of existence was fixed if not improved with the ap2

if I were buying used between the two, id look at the AP2's because of all the AP1 retainer horror stories and not knowing if the previous owner over-revved it. That would be my biggest concern as a used buyer.

AP1 EVERYTHING, but with the 2.2 engine ('02/'03 9k ECU of course!)

I actually prefer the clean look of the AP1 and I think the 02-03 taillights look the best, but I do like the rear bumper of the AP2. The gauges wouldn't be so bad if the rev counter wasn't so short... aaanyway, if I were to get another S2000, I maaaaay consider getting an AP2 because it may suit my needs with its higher lower end torque.

Such general comments aren't really very informative. Can you be more specific? What exactly about my AP1 do you think is wrong or in need of improvement? We'll get a lot further, a lot faster, if we get down to brass tacks.
