Wow are sk2s wrecked alot?
It seems the s2k is def easy to wreck and has been in many. Case in point, My MBA prof is a car junkie to and I told him about my s2k then he tells me about how good sports cars they are and then mentions about his friends brother wrecked into a guard rail on the freeway and got
ed up!! It got fixed but this story is way to common from talking to other people to, seems like people always know of an s2k that got wrecked.........Remember to car fax check your s2ks when you buy em guys...........
not enough people understand how to drive a rear-wheel drive car(s). mix in people driving above their/the cars abilities, and a dash of stupidity, just a little bit of daddys money/ consequence free environment(economics) and you have a high number of wrecks
One reason is that there is high turnover right now and the earlier years are selling for the price of the other rice rockets. This means a lot of younger people are getting their hands on it and really don't know what they are doing.
What's up with all the 15 and 16 year olds on the board with S2Ks?? Are their parents insane? I got in enough trouble in my parent's Aerostar at that age

It's all relative, as much as I'd kill to drive an F1 car, I bet I'd crash it.
learning car control, and your own limits will go along way to safely driving any car.
You gotta be going pretty damn fast, or really have a lack of judgement to crash an S2K.

Hold on just a few RPM,
I agree that our car is "said" to be a bit twitchy at times. And, I agree that some drivers may be a bit lacking in skills needed to wring the most from it.
However, as a person who respects science, lets also remember that 1) this is an S2000 forum (thus, what type of wrecks are most likely to be mentioned), and 2) I have yet to see any hard data saying that our car is any more likely to be wrecked than other similar cars. When the Porsche 911 first came out, it -- and most Porsches in general -- were "SAID" to be difficult to control at speed.
If this were say, a Mustang forum, not only would it be lame, it would have more stories about Mustang owners thwacking their cars into something hard (say reality) than anything else.
Bottom line: If you can drive, you'll love this car. If you can't, you may learn to...but you may also THWACK-IT into something unexpected...as in your ability. Its the messenger, not the chariot it comes in.
