Whoa!

Salar you should have stopped posting a looooooooong time ago, right before you made your "shady and wrong" comment. If I was going to try to pass off my car as "undamaged" when I sell it, I sure as hell wouldn't TELL people as such on a message board frequented by S2k enthusiasts from all over the country. Never mind that they're just "letters on a computer screen" to you, they'll watch for your car going for sale, and pounce.

And for the rest of us... It's a shame when I read all the ignorant comments being made. If you have personally been in a situation like that, post up with how much it cost to fix. If you haven't, and you're not a professional bodyman, what makes you think your "guesstimate" is even relevant? And the ignorant comments re: insurance just make me laugh. If you don't know, DON'T POST! Lots of hate is being thrown his way, and he just took a major hit on a car [he says] he bought with his own money. Some of you say this will be a learning experience for him. DUH!

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

GO HOKIES!!!! I love it, I drive around town with my VT license plate surround and a nice big VIRGINIA TECH on my wind deflector. It looks awesome. I moved up here for an engineering job and the town is actually quite nice. (When you take away the UVA influence...)

As for Salar. He has proven his mettle with his previous posts. Looking back through this thread, it is easy to see why I won't be paying much attention to him in the future. The reason I still pay attention to this thread is to make sure an unsuspecting buyer does not get screwed.

My front end was 5-6K and that was just the headlights, 2 fenders, bumper and the hood. 5-6K is just the crack talking.

I dont think it would cost near that much to fix. I say around 5-6k.
LOL, not really. I had a bill of $5.7k for half the damage that this s2k has.

You guys need to lighten up and perhaps take a closer look at the photos. The car is not that badly damaged. It's a total because it would cost more to fix than to replace. There is suspension damage, wheels, fenders and body work, hood, bumpers, lights, all the braces and bits and a full paint job. It would cost in the range of $10-15K to repair completely. Seriously look at the photos. It just looks worse than it probably is. If the frame is tweaked it can almost certainly be straightened.

You guys need to lay off a bit before you going jumping all over the kid.

I actually want to part the car out but my father insists on getting it fixed. We have a quote for $2000 labor included for the body work at the shop it is in right now. We've been to that shop many times and they do great work for the price. Mechanical wise I dont know how much it is going to cost yet, Im not going to let this shop fix the rear wheel since theyre only good at making the car's appearance look good. Ill let yall know how it goes.

WoW $2k for all the body work? Must be some high quality work your getting done there .... I do feel for you though, I'm young my self (18) and have had an accident before, but I think for $2k you are not going to get anywhere near a quality job done on the car. You have quite a bit of damage. The headlights/ taillights and front bumper alone should put you well over the $2k mark. I would also recomend that you replace your entire exhaust system, if they try to repair you could loose some HP in the process (that may not be a bad thing in your case though). I would save some money and get it repaired properly with quality work. I had a minor accident where I just needed the front and back bumper resprayed, one head light and some new suspension parts, the total was about $5,750. Thankfully I have full coverage so that got taken care of. Be ready for the actuall suspension mechanical work. That's where things get even more expensive.

2k sounds WAYYY low for just the bodywork. Does this include parts? Does the painter know its 3 stage paint?
