yes. Especially when you hit something that doesn't move. If you don't believe me look at your own car.

Not much because it would be salvaged. I'd be surprised if you broke even after the repairs (not including the original cost of the car).
car will not be labeled Salvage because your insurance company didn't total it out.

My car had more damage than that (same rear wheel issue) and it cost about $5 to fix. Just hope your rear subframe isn't bent and everything should be okay. With my rear wheel, all I had to replace was the lower control arm and rod, so hopefully yours will be okay.

Either part it out or sell as is with a Clean title unless you can get all the parts cheap.

that is easily totaled....the cosmetic parts (fender, wheels, bumpers) and airbags will close in on $10K just by themselves....add in the other damaged parts (suspension bits) and it'll be pushing $15K.

Some of you guys are missing the point. There is no "totaled" as he has no insurance. He is on the hook for the whole thing himself. Unfortunate, but, true. I am willing to bet it can be fixed.

Just out of curiosity, and I'm not saying this had anything to do with it...

but could you tell us what kind of tires you had on that car? Please identify the exact brand, model, and size (width) of all four tires. Thanks!

Im not sure what tires I had, Ill let u know when i find out. Airbags didnt go off either guys thank god. Insurance does not know this accident took place. If all goes to plan, hopefully I can purchase all the needed parts off these forums or somewhere else cheap and my father and his friends can fix the car and sell it. My dad use to be a mechanic so he has experience.

I had an unfortunate crash this summer with my MY04. I broke the rear suspension and wheel like you did. I also ruined the drivers door, the rocker panel (which is and integral part of the frame), and rear quarter panel. My body panel damage was much less significant than yours. total cost was just over $11,000. I was able to get everything repaired, and it is perfect. However, it was costly and thank goodness I had insurance. Your repair is going to be very costly. Weigh the pros and cons of repair vs parting out. Good luck, and jsut remember, its only a car. What matters is that you walked away from this wreck.

i understand he has no insurance...by "totaled" i mean it'll cost more or just about what the vehicle will cost to get it fixed....the car is worth about $17-$18K??? I think it'll cost right around there to get it fixed....even if it takes about 15K to get fixed, it really isn't worth it IMO.

There is no frame damage, I got the car checked out and the damage is all in the rear suspention, front bumper, and rear bumber. I need to replace the gas tank too since it is leaking.

No s2000's arent really known for this if you know how to drive a RWD. My car got lose the other night while powering thru a turn, I stayed on the gas and saved it. You probably did what you would do in a fwd car and lifted of the throttle or worse hit the brakes. Anyways your driving isnt the big issue.....its the non oem tires on the car. Those things look like tires you would find on a daily driver civic, not an s2000.
