Default Wrinkled rear plastic window....

Guys, is it just mine, or are all the pre glass window s2ks wrinkled...I also have two creases in it....I try to put the top down slowly now...making sure the plastic rolls and not folds...is there a way to get that stretched look again?

I think I read that you can put it out in the hot sun and the wrinkles should go away as the plastic gets softer. Also, you can pour hot h2o on there and be successful. Try a search for more info ~

There's a tube you can get to prevent any future damage.

Muz carries them: http://www.prestigeautoaccessories.com/cgi...ct=window_tubes

I'm sure there are other vendors/manufacturers as well.

I've heard about the tube thingy, unfortunetly, I don't think it will remove the wrinkles. I thought I've heard of that hot h20 method before...anyone here try it before?

My bf's brother left the top down on my S in his garage while I was out of town for a week - left a nice big crease across the window when I got back

Anyways, we put a dishtowel in a bowl of water and zapped it in the microwave till nice n piping hot - ran the towel across the window for awhile and voila, crease started to go away.

After you fix it, put some static cling tint on it. It helps keep the window from creasing.

Isn't static cling too dark though? Do they have a plain transparent one?

I actually had "that bar thing" take out a mild crease in my plastic rear window. I make my own window bar out of a piece of white plastic pipe covered with that black rubber pipe insulation with plastic caps at the end. All from Home Depot. Used it and left the top down for a week or two in the heat, and crease was gone. Can't say if it would work for a more serious crease, though.

Hope this helps,
Richard
