Why does everyone hate the plastic rear window so much? I have read about people here trading up to an 02 because they dont like the plastic rear window. I dont mind mine.

For those that drive theirs S's everyday, I can see how it might be annoying (b/c over time, the plastic does get hazy, gets creases from the bending, nevermind the scratches that it gets by sitting at the bottom of the top well...).

But for me personally ? I have yet to look through my plastic window as I never drive my car unless it's top-down weather... There could be a brick wall back there for all I care...

but I'm with you...

The scratches and creases are easy to prevent. If it is already scratched the scratches come out easily too.

The distortion makes it really had to find light bars on the top of cars. After I clean mine, it is crystal clear, but the crease still causes the distortion. It's only a problem in top up weather.

I understand the distortion. I use the side mirror for that.

The crease may be easy to prevent, but I had my car for a year before I bought Muz's window tube. I believe the tube has prevented the crease from getting worse, but it is still there.

Although I commented on the crease, I want to stress that the plastic rear window does not bother me since I can still see out of it. Heck, my main problem is not being able to see the traffic lights because the roof line is too low.

It doesn't bother me either - I mostly drive with top down year-round.

If the BMW and Porsche roadsters' windows were glass, maybe I'd mind.
