Where did you get that pic? That's from the Supra TX 2K1 meet this past spring in Houston, & we did a track day at Gransport Speedway near Galveston. The WRX owner (Jordan, from DFW area) is an awesome driver who frequents TX MS Ranch, but he didn't seem to be able to threaten the 3 S2K's. Still, don't draw any conclusions from the pic....it was a very laid back track day, no more than 5 on the track at a time, limited passing areas, & everyone was really cool about giving each other plenty of space. It could be that the WRX just got on the track right behind the S2k. Also, 2 of the 3 S2k's there spun that day (guess who didn't ), while the WRX seemed slower but more stable in the corners.

I always love seeing pictures that people post of an S2000 ahead of a WRX on the track...

Its not secret stock for stock which one is faster...

I've got seat time in both and even though I no longer own an S2000, I still don't doubt that the S2000 is superior...

One could go on and on with these kinds of threads...

things like

For the cost difference, you could mod the WRX blah blah...

maybe I should post a picture of my WRX wagon holding a 36 inch TV and an S2000 parked next to it with the owner trying to figure out how to get a TV in to his car?

I mean if you think about it, its a ludicrous comparison, not unlike the WRX vs S2K threads...

Then again, I guess since the Subaru is "sporty" and the S2000 is a sports car, people feel the need to compare...

Come on people, each car has is strong and weak points... I'd think that sums up the comparison.

Sorry for the rant...

I am lucky owner of WRX and S 2000. It is very difficult to say which one is better. This is like to compare Aston Martin and F1 car. Both cars are reasonably fast and this is the only thing that takes them together. S2000 gives a lot of fun (convertible, 9000 RPM) but it is not performance car. It is more like to put very powerful engine to the go-kart and just to pray that the owner will have enough driving skills to be able to control the power. Wrx is more think through car all the technical solutions fits to each other creating amazing driving tool. If somebody wants to learn how to drive fast in the tough corners should rather think about WRX if wants to have fun from simple driving S2000 is much better solution.

Sorry but I disagree... A Lamborghini is a performance car.. so are you saying it should be easy to drive around corners... i think the harder the car is to learn and master the more of a performance car it is...

The masochist theory of driving. How come Schumacher is always praising how easy his Ferrari is to drive these days? I haven't ever heard a race driver say "Wow, this car is such a bitch to drive, I really owe a debt to my crew".

PS: Yes that is a WRX and an S2000 in my avatar, and yes the WRX is a more complete performance machine and easier to drive fast. Doesn't mean it's more fun though.

If the S2000 wasn't a convertible I would probably have gone for the WRX. However, we wanted a convertible and that is what swung it.

They are very different cars and have strong and weak points. As an overall package, I would say that the WRX is better unless you want an out and out impractical sports car ..... which, by the way, I am very happy to own!!!

I am thinking that performance cars have nothing to do with "hard to drive" but rather with the way it is constructed. The key is to get extra advantages from extra power and that's not what every car gives. In my opinion the best example is fast corner driving on wet siting in WRX and S2000. WRX is much easier to control then S2000 and better follows driver instructions.
Some times I have the filling that I am not really sure that I am able to use all the S2000 power. The good thing about S2000 is that I am fell more respect to the car, because I am convinced that if I press gas to heavy on the wet I might not be able to follow the right direction. Anyway for everyday driving S2000 gives more fun and for sure have gorgeous look.

I couldn't choose between that two thanks good my wife needed a car too.

Sorry for my English that is not my native language.
