Default WTB LOW miles or 2009

I have owned 3 s2k in the past. 03,04,05. I want to buy another but I am conflicted on whether to focus on Miles or rare year. 2009 with 52k NFR all 10 vins 3 owners for 35k
2006 SSM Red Black interior 21k miles all 10 vins. 3 owners for 35k or 2004 with 46k miles 1 owner 9/10 vins (rearbumper replaced) for 33k. PArt of me wants a low mileage car but also I want to own it to DRIVE the thing. Seems like the market is starting to soften a bit. Cars and bids just sold a clean 2007 with 28k miles foe 28.5k dollars. Lost that auction over 250 bucks.

any advice is appreciated

Personally, it comes down to just a few simple things.

1. What do you value the most about the purchase?
2. What are your intentions/goals with the car?
3. Are you worried about resale value?

For me, I wanted a super clean, low mileage car because it was going to hold its value. I knew I wouldn't be driving it often but I also knew I won't keep it forever so resale value is important to me. Things like no accidents, VIN tags, non-modified, low ownership volume....all things that affect the value...were important. If I was going to put a lot of miles, modify/race or keep it forever, none of those would matter nearly as much so long as the car was in good shape.

I made an offer on the 17k mile ssm one. 38 is too much in my opinion. with 9/10 vins and not original owner.

Use some of that 18k profit, so you don't lose out on another car for the sake of 250 dollars, (which may have been more if you had gotten into a bidding war with the eventual winner). People get too wrapped up with paying too much. If you can afford it, it's not too much.

If we all thought the same we'd be married to the same woman.

A priority list will create a short, sometimes a very short list of cars to consider. I wanted a tunable car so 2006+ ("AP2V2") headed my list (10 years ago) followed by the usual condition, miles, etc but tunable was mandatory. This immediately excluded 80% of the cars imported which I didn't bother to even look at. Only two of the cars listed in Post 1 meet my #1 criteria -- remember this is very personal criteria but one I still insist on. A car with 10 VIN tags would be #2 on my current list -- my car has them but I didn't know about them at the time -- so any car without them would now fail #2. And on down the list.

"All original" was on my initial priority list but I ended up with a car with horrible, black (is "horrible black" redundant?) aftermarket wheels knowing I could find OEM wheels which took me just over a month. This is much harder today. By the way color was not on my original list. Game time decision. My 2006 is Silverstone which turns out to be less than 8% of the AP2V2 cars. -- and I'm very happy with that "choice" of color.

The search is part of the fun. Expect to pay market price to get what you want.
