You would have to ask either Rick he's a sponsor, does the leather stuff (you probably know that) or Mark Digrappa, I'm sure there may be another GB on it, who knows? I'm sure they want to make it worth the while....low quantity=higher prices

Great piece though and well worth even the reg. price, which btw is only $50 more than the GB, i think...

I have the brace mingster sells. I also have the neuspeed tower brace.

I put the tower brace on first and as Greg said, not too much difference there. Maybe a bit stiffer?

Then the x brace. I could definitely tell something had happened in cornering. Seemed to be significantly stiffer. I "felt" more in control at speed going through turns. This could be an illusion as I havent tried to see a limit to this (and hopefully wont). I think a real test would be a slalom or some other very twisty track setup that would enable a driver to safely test the limits both ways. That way us "city folk" would be able to know whether their butt o meters were working properly or not!

BTW I am still trying to buy somebodys Comptech lower rear brace in red billet (just for the look) I dont expect a performance enhancement.

Another GB is starting shortly, so check over in that section. I wanted to do this since Mingster and MG are offering the other two at a GB price, so now you can choose between the three at the GB prices!! This is a great oportunity for those that do not have an X brace to purchase one of the three and enjoy the handling benefits! Also I will be offering an STB shortly, to compliment the X brace.
Let me know what you think
BTW the rear X brace is also in development

Wow, if it's anything like the Digrappa x-brace, it should be one heck of a nice item.

When I first got my S2000 in April, 2000, I thought it was beautifully stiff, but not perfectly stiff. I have cobble stones in front of my house, and at low speeds, I got a low frequency harmonic vibration under the windshield. Same when driving over bott strips (bott dots).

I got the RM Racing Strut Tower Brace. Slight improvement, very subtle, hardly noticeable.

Then I got the Spoon lower front x brace and Spoon rear brace.

When I installed the lower front x brace it made a terrific difference. No more low frequency vibration from the cobble stones or bott strips. The rear brace did nothing except lighten my wallet, hardly noticeable in terms of the car's performance.

I have no experience with any of the other front braces. I think the DeGrippa billet brace is by far the best looking, and to the degree there is any noticeable difference, probably the most effective, but I think it may do more than stiffen the front end, it may have an unintended effect on the front end crush dynamics in the event of a front end collision.

Just a thought.

Hmmm interesting thought, are you thinking good or bad in terms of the effect?

Hi md

Seems to me that a billet cross brace might strengthen the front crush zone and result in the transmission of more impact energy into the passenger cell.

The answer, of course, is enjoy the additional stiffening but don't run your S2000 straight into a wall, etc.
