Default Xenon Lamp/buld has blown!

Hi all,

The xenon lamp on the drivers side (not the high beam but the gas discharge "blue" one) has "blown" on me. It went out a few weeks ago for a day and then back on, but slightly whiter. Now it is totally off. When my S was in with my mechanic yesterday he said it looked like a very hard thing to replce due to it's location. Can you advise me:

What exactly do I need to get from Honda (part number would be great as there are 40 S2000's in Ireland and therefore not many experts!)
How difficult is it to fit?

Thanks a million as always,

Adrian

It's actually pretty easy to get to the bulb through the back of the wheel well liner. The plastic clips holding the liner in need to be removed and you can peel it back enough to get a (skinny) hand in there to remove/replace the bulb.

We sell replacemetn bulbs BTW, but they're not cheap. Shipping to Ireland isn't cheap either so you might be better served by trying to find a local source.

Make sure it's the burner and not the ballast before you buy parts. An on/off situation like that sounds like the ballast or ignitor to me.

When the bulbs go back they turn an orange color. It sounds like it's something else. Your bulb may be fine. Most likey, it's the ballast.
