steve c is a novelty. Some, like myself, don't take him seriously and laugh at a good number of the things he says. He's even right occationally. When he steps over the line from being a smartass to an asshat he gets slapped for it, sucks it up and moves on. He's actually very easy to deal with because he knows he walks the line and takes it like a man when he steps over it.

It pays to have a healthy sense of humor.
Make that a double ..................

Mr. Cole simply lacks social skills on the internet. In this sense, he is socially challenged. He and I have "duked it out" in the past, yet, I still respond to his posts and he has also responded to mine. You will always find people that rub you the wrong way. Heck, I rub lots of people the wrong way. That's just human nature. And like Cthree says, much of the time, Mr. C is right in his statements. It's just his execution that sometimes stinks. I've seen many people in all walks of life with his disposition. They are unique (in an odd sort of way) but they do exist all around us. So don't let his existance here be the yardstick by which anyone should use to decide whether or not they buy a membership.

OK, enough of Steve c. This is way more attention than he deserves. I'm sure he's reading this and getting quite a warped chuckle out of it.

Xviper,
You should only provide your expertise to paying members. It will be like an incentive for ppl to sign up. Just a thought.

Site Administrators,
Maybe all the FAQ's and HOW TO install forums should only be accessible to paying members. Just another thought.

--I just realized my membership expired this month. However, I did renew!

I think this point has been brought up a couple of times in teh Site Info forum, but all of the guests jumped in complaining about how it's not right to have to pay for the info.

And SteveC can be an ass, but you have to take what he says with a grain of salt. Usually what he says does have an intellectual response hidden in there somewhere, you just gotta find it.

I have found this site worth every cent of my gold membership fees. I keep track of my membership date and gladly renew before it expires. The information I've gleaned from this site has helped me keep my car well tuned and cared for and the friendships I've made are priceless. to you, XViper for a most excellent thread and to the site's founder and administrator.

xviper -

It would seem your unofficial membership drive has already borne fruit. I'd like to add my thanks to everyone who ponied up to join, renew, or upgrade. Good job!

Great thread xviper.
