Xviper is a very smart person, he corrected me several times on mistakes I made when giving bad information. He was always there to give good, and help me out with my problems. It's deffinatly a shame to see him go. I'de be more than happy if my name it on the list.

I suppose I can on some level sympathize with artist of those signature pics... he did take time out of his life to make those. However, if it were me, I really wouldn't care what people did with them.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I wouldn't be acting like I was wronged... certainly not "stolen" from if people were using them as their signature picture. It just comes off as very childish and arrogant to me. You can talk about "the law" all you want, but if that's the card your're going to play... don't tell me that you did it for "the community" .

Maybe they represent much, much more to him than to me, but I'm just not seeing it. It's an illustration of a car that a team of artists designed 10 years ago on the other side of the planet. If anything, I think XViper's DIY's are more worthy of a copyright than those pictures.

As for XViper's departure, this is a case of too little too late. To me, it sounded like someone who felt underappreciated... which he certainly was. It's too bad we didn't start up a thread thanking him for his work here prior to his leaving.

Xviper was (is) a great resource on this site, and it seems like this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Unfortunately for s2ki, it will be all of us that will suffer.

I hope that after seeing this post, maybe Xviper will be back. I hope you know that for all of the stupid asinine posts that people make to cause you headaches that there are plenty of us who appreciate all of your hard work, even if it unfortunately is silent appreciation. Here's hoping all of our voices will convince you otherwise about leaving.
