Default year by engine number

Hi anybody know how to tell an AP1 engines age from it's number?
As the engine has been transplanted into an AE85 Toyota the Honda vin is not relevant
Thanks Paul

If you search the threads re banjo bolt update you may find some helpful info on engine numbers and model year ap1s. My ap1 engine number is 1029198. My car is a 2002 model year.

There is a VIN on the rear of the head that will help if it is still attached. It is a green aluminum riveted strip.
