Did you know that vision correcting spectacles were invented about 700-750 years ago? Even before that, they used magnifying glass for reading.

thanks for all the suggestions people. It had been over a year since I had gotten my vision checked... and in that time I moved across the country and found a new doctor.... I mean, I could see with the lower prescription so I'm not sure how that all happened...

So... I'm nearsided and wear contact lenses.
I've had a pair of yellow lensed glasses purely for night driving for some years now, yes some colours change slightly bit I've found that they reduce glare considerably, a bit like different coloured lenses in sunglasses, ie brown/grey or green. Different horses for courses.
