Yellow S2000 on Ebay
Jay,
that's how I got my silver/black here in NYC. 31,200 everything included except tax. Got dealer to throw in the floormats. Granted, it's not the latest 2001 model. And it's not the latest and hottest Spa Yellow. But if you are willing to do some digging (okay, make that a LOT of digging), it can be done. Bought it 2 weeks ago.

It's not realistic to even say S2000 and Miata in the same sentence. In the last 6 days I have driven over 350 miles in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley/North Bay areas, and have seen exactly one other S2K. If I had to guess, I saw over 25 Miatas. Supply and demand says this car won't go below MSRP for a long time.
Did anyone happen to look at This auction on Ebay? I really like the description (allcaps and all):
2001 HONDA S2000 YELLOW 6SPEED THIS IS THE LAST YEAR OF THIS GREAT CAR
2001 HONDA S2000 YELLOW 6SPEED THIS IS THE LAST YEAR OF THIS GREAT CAR
I've noticed something interesting... Some S2K'ers are talking about putting their cars away for the winter. Others are talking about the bottom dropping out of the market and the $$$ coming back to Earth.
Is it me, or are these comments coming from the same areas of the country? Here in sunny Florida, MSRP is no where in site! I had to drive 90 miles (last week) to get my silver/black for $2.5K over MSRP... and that is the best I could do in the state!
But, the top will be down all winter, the sunblock will be in the secret compartment, and I'm not sure what a snow tire looks like.
Oh yea... about your vanity license plate string... how about mine: SPF 30
