If you can get a great deal on an 05, I would go for it. Other than that, I would however opt for an 06 just because of the stability control and traction control. All the purist can bitch and moan all they want but there is a reason why almost every car company offers it on their sports car. Even the elise now will come with traction control (not sure about stability control however). Where are you located, i'm sure if you ask in the regional area, you can get good responses on which dealer to go to for the best prices
Seems like in So cal..the 05s are not that great a deal..at least from talking to 4 dealers. Out of state, good deals..but now that I know the 06 is coming out, I will wait for a Rio Yellow on the 06.

Man I love your sig pic, can't decide lip or no front lip....need side to side pics. Great color.

I am 26 miles north west of Los Angeles, in the suburbs

Sam,

In my opinion, the front lip makes a HUGE difference. Looking at the same model side by side, one with and one without a lip, you can see how much more aesthetically appealing the lip is. My buddy just got an '05 with the lip and it looks great! Plus, if you decide you don't want it, you can probably sell it for the same price or more in the classifieds. They get snatched up quick, too. I guarantee (whatever that's worth ) you won't regret it. Good luck on your future purchase.

If you're buying from a dealer, chances are there will be no holes. All 4 hondas ive bought from a dealership had no holes in the front bumper. (new/used)

Yeah, and that reason is 99.9% of people on the road can't drive for sh!t. By your statement I'm sure you'll forgive me if I lump you into that category. One of the cool things about the S has always been that it was a no frills sports car. I was pissed when they softened it up for 04, when I was ready to buy, so I went and got an 02. The S used to be a car that catered to that .1% of true enthuiasts, but now with the addition of traction control they are just like every other sports car pandering to the moronic masses that just want to look cool. What's next? An automatic tranny?

Rio Yellow rocks! Don't change your color choice for a second man! I was going to get red until I got to the dealership, then I said "woah, that's the new yellow?" and left in yellow. I kinda wish I would have waited a month and got the 06 new instead of the 05 new since I would have gotten it for the same price (I paid msrp), but I don't want TC and the new wheels are fugly as sin, so I'm not too upset about it I guess.

iwill probabyly end up getting the 2006......rio yello

all the new cars at the dealers seem to ahve the holes drilled in already

since they are not all over the place like civics, i wonder if its possible to ask the dealer not to drill holes...right when the car comes in

rio yellow

Its a great color. I always was a yellow person, but both of my last new cars (within the last 23 months) has been super bright red. Red was sadly my second choice, and neither of these cars were offered in yellow.

For the S2k, I am not buying anything but yellow. I won't change my mind rest assured.

Problem is everytime I check at the dealership, they only have the dark silver (forgot the color name), had 1 white, and 1 red, and couple more silvers. In the last 16 months that I have been shopping, I bought a minivan from them, and yet they haven't had a single yellow there.

If they had a yellow in the showroom, I know I would have been a s2k owner about a year ago, when the 04s came out.

I really didn't like the Rio Yelow when it came out, as the spa yellow on the nsx has been my favorite color all along. Thus I debated getting a diff color s2k, since no new s2k spas are made. But then I realized, I have to get the yellow to get the yearning out of my ssytem

Any pics of yours to salivate on, till I buy?

I don't mind the 06, though i hate the new headrests, hopefully theft will go down. I don't like the wheels, but will reserve judgement till I see them in person. I never liked the 04 wheels, but it really grew on me. I do like the 04 exhaust pipes better than the ealier s2ks.

TC--eh gotta live with it, at least for me.

Will keep you guys updated, and thanks for all the help!
