Default Yet another CAI question...

Sorry, Im like ready NOW to buy one online. So I keep coming up with more questions.
Anyways, is it necessary to cut out that bumper fake vent when you have a CAI? Will that air coming in making any bit of difference or will the intake already be sucking in so much air that it wont make any difference?

Well generally the more air the better, but your not gonna be able to tell the difference if you cut out that piece. Waist of time if ya ask me. Its gonna suck air no matter where it is.

cutting open the vent will allow it to get wetter while driving in wet conditions which usualyl isnt a good thing, but who knows.

The hole idea (pun intended) is to get cold air feeding into the intake, not hot air from inside the engine bay.

It depends on which type of CAI you buy. It is no use cutting out the fake vent if your intake grabs air from a different place eg in front of the radiator.
So look up the installation instruction of each CAI you are planning to buy and see where the air gets drawn from.

If you cut the fake vent you can always cover it with a grill.

you can cut them out, but like was stated above, the filter will be exposed to more of the elements. But if the car is a garage queen, why not? I did not cut mine out because its my daily driver (all weather conditions, including hurricanes).

Its my daily driver also. I was thinking about only cutting some of it. Like, they have lines going across them all the way down. So this makes a bunch of stacked rectangles. Im thinking about trying to cut out every other rectangle, I think that would look really good for some reason. And if I mess up, I can just cut the whole thing out!

If the risk is worth the reward for you, go for it. Personally, I am still in college, and cannot afford a hydrolocked engine, so I did not cut mine out. Risk not equal to reward for me.
