Default CAI Duct

Now that my brakes are being cooled by the air that used to go up to my superchargers intake, I was thinking of ducting the bumper to draw cold air directly to the intake, but am wondering if it's possible to get so much air that the A/F ratios lean out too much. Am I being too paranoid? Any other dangers besides possibly a sparrow into the engine?

if you drive your car in the rain, hydrolock may be a potential hazard, otherwise i dont see any more problems.

I wouldn't think that the A/F ratio would be thrown off at all. You're basically introducing colder air into the element. After thinking about what we were talking about the other night, that spot that you wanted to cut out might not be the best place. My main concern would just be water...you know how puddles just tend to appear around here from wayward sprinkler systems.

Nobody,
Give Russ a PM. He did something like this and disappointing results... if I understand what you want to do correctly. You wouldn't throw A:F off, but you would be making it harder for the engine to breathe by increasing resistance i.e. longer tube, more resistance to flow. I dremmed out the faux vent and it seems to work for me. As for water ingestion... small to no risk. It isn't like the filter is right there i.e. the AEM/Injen style intakes.
