I used to be a cop, and it was the VAST presence of bullies and crooks in the departments that convinced me that I wanted a job that I could be proud of.
Pimp?
Mailman?
This is my favorite part of the article.
"If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?"
Then why do the allow the production of ZO6's, Porsches', Lambo's, ferraris, etc...

Something tells me that there is more to this story than what is written up in an "automotive law enforcement abuse" blog.
It probably goes to show that if one has illegal mods/parts on their cars, they shouldn't be stupid enough to loiter on private property. The Canyon Crossing shopping center management probably found a good way to keep these people from congregating in their parking lot at night.
tehre was a big kmart raid in houston about 2002 i think.. anyone that was in the kmart parknig lot was arrested including people that were using that lot to go to the restaurant next door. it was a huge bust that resulted in nothing but a few small tickets. cops thought they were busting on street racers but i guess they cracked down at the wrong time. just as stupid as this.
