I was at both the H-town raid and Charlotte/Meck police raids... Complete if you ask me. Just because you were in the parking lot they searched your car inside and out... There were times where cops would show up and talk (one time one asked to go for a ride in the Z06, he was super cool) ...but these raids have got to be totally illegal.

"If you're not into street racing, why would you need that?" Riverside Police Traffic Sergeant Skip Showalter asked an enthusiast during a similar crackdown last year. "Why would you want more power going to your car?"
What kind of assumption is that? I guess everyone who owns a Cadillac "V", Mercedes "AMG", BMW "M", Audi "S", Audi "RS", Chevrolet Z28, SS, Z06, or anything with more power than a base model car should be searched and/or arrested for being a street racer...

The sad thing is, that meet is advertised in the Southern California forums, and the Inland Empire subforum

Omg. Because its America and I f*ing can. Papers please, I am the police. Go do some warrantless searches on known crack houses and gangs and leave people alone

It apprears that most of the people posting to this thread are just too stupid to realize that the people who own the property where the car people are congregating don't want these people on their property. Do you want these types of street people congregating on your property uninvited? Probably not.

I don't have nearly as much room on my property as they do. I say, no way of knowing for sure.

Do they technically own the parking lot? Are the parking spaces part of the lot they pay for or is it public property? Either way its loitering I'm just curious. I don't support or condone street racing but this seems a little much to me. Be more inconspicuous and undercover and catch those who actually ARE street racing, don't bust enthusiasts balls for congregating with some friends and more than likely bringing business to surrounding establishments. I don't completely disagree with the purpose, the methodology just seems a bit...thoughtless, Like gestapo tactics.

ps Those "shiny new ford mustangs and BMW's" probably didn't get any tickets....just the "broken down hondas"

I wonder if a class action lawsuit could be done for illegal search and seizure, profiling and harassment.
