happens here in toronto all the time. they wait near the race track where there
is only one main street coming in, and pull people over on their way to the track lol this is there way of stopping street racing??? block off parking lots specially coffee shops. one time i was at the local coffee shop with my civic cops blocked it in and brought special mto officers (ministry of transportation officers) they brought equipment (sniffers) to see if everyone had catalytic converters installed, checking ride height (i got into and argument with one of them cause they said there has to be a 2 finger gap between tire and fender, so i said thats b.s. what if the guy has really thick fingers lol) complete b.s. now they passed a new law if you get caught speeding 50km over speed limit its automatically considered street racing, and you get direct sumons to court and they confiscate your car. i always tell these cops why dont they go fight crime in those ghetto areas and do real work, its obviousely easy money for them safe too lol most car enthusiast that i know dont carry a gun with them usually just hard working regular joes.

They believe street racing has killed at least two people in Riverside in recent years
They BELIEVE (but can't prove) it's killed TWO people in 2 YEARS.

Wouldn't that make it one of the least dangerous things to do in a car?

That sounds more realistic. Good on them.

And I love this line: On Friday, cars ranging from broken-down Hondas to shiny, new Ford Mustangs and BMWs

The USSR wasn't just communist, it was also fascist.

Methinks he was referring to the latter

lol so true, i can vouch for this type of thing happening in Toronto, and the Greater Toronto Area in general (Markham/Richmond Hill/Thornhill/Etobicoke/Mississauga, etc.). plus that thing where cops pull over us cars AT THE ENTRANCE of the race track was sickening and did happen for 1-2 seasons, but the organizers did majorly complain to the local OPP (ontario provincial police)=CHP in cali office and the cops stopped.

wow that cali story is a quite a BS thing for the cops to pull off. that stuff has been going on for YEARSSSSSSSS since the muscle car days and you didn't ticketing/harrassment like that back then!!! - Shoot those guys cars are less street legal than most imports anyways lol, and they used to run on the streets here in Toronto (and north of the city) wayyyy back with no issues from cops.

gotta love how cops now associate a modded car AUTOMATICALLY with the fact you're gonna race or are a menace to society - fukc1n BS i tell ya! so i guess if im black and drive a benz i stole it too? jeez, most street racing collisions that DO occur (here) usually involve young punks in their mommy or daddy's oldsmobile...let alone a civic or something, if it is a civic or import, its usually again a young ricer du.mbass with cheap ass wheels, an intake, some coloured-loom and underglow kit. if anything the car is LESS of a menace than most regular cars out there. to bad the driving smarts/skill of many can't be higher...or the brains of the cops either.

great job. now we have an article with an anti-police tone and one with a pro-police tone! they still didnt prove anything. they didnt mention any evidence they had that there was street racing going on. treadmarks are nothing they coulda been there for days or even weeks ago.
