Good write up. Im 21 and have my own s2000. (payed for in full by myself) and ive never been happier with a car. i LOVE that little wave and smile you give and get from every s2000 owner you pass. i LOVE the mean ass face all the old dudes in miatas give me haha. S2000's are definitely one of a kind and one of the best cars you can buy. I treat mine like a baby. Its a daily driver and i probably hit v-tech once a week. I check the oil once a week. I clean it at least once a week. I feel privileged to have one. I cant wait to deck out my 01 and then save up for an ap2.

Man a lot of you guys need to hit the track. Whole new level of respect for the car once you do that.

People need to realize the s2k isn't some big expensive euro car that parents buy for their princess.
It's quite easy to pick up a second hand one for around 10k easy if you know where you're looking. I graduated High School when I was 17, took a year off to work and saved up for my car and had plenty of cash to spare for my tuition and other savings. (although insurance is a bitch for an unmarried male under 25 driving a sports convertible, but hey you gotta start somewhere)

I got my s2k 7 months ago. im 16. within the first 6 months i got pulled over 4 times. one on the highway going 80 in a 60(not racing or in a low gear just 80 mph cruise) then i got one 62 in a 40 in a main avenue (chasing my friend being an idiot) then i got one for drifting onto the expressway and gunning it to about 100mph before i got pulled over. my last stop was racing 2 other cars in the middle of the day on a busy avenue. as a kid were all adrenaline junkies and we feel like were on top of the world and at the end of the day were a bunch of dumbasses. however i do kind of blame my parents that i race on the street. if they would just let me go to the track id take out my adrenaline there but they dont let me go to the track or the hangouts so i have to be racing all hidden and shit behind their backs and thats when things go wrong. ive definitely learned my lesson after the last stop and now the racings really over.

Ok, blaming your parents for racing?? This is the perfect example of why kids shouldnt be getting sport cars before theyre ready. Some of you may say that youre responsible, and if thats true, bravo. But youre in the minority. Its too bad the S2k is getting cheap enough for kids or their parents to buy one. Hopefully, the S2k wont carry the stigma of driving a civic.
