and someone said the s2k was not targeted toward the affluent...

honda has said it targets the RSX at $60k/yr 26 year old techies.... and the S at $100k/yr baby boomers. so, according to http://www.businessweek.com/smallbiz/salar...sb_naverage.htm, we have an awful lot of sophomore CEO's skipping study hall to make "executive decisions"...

been working ever since

bought all my cars myself w/o help:

do i regret the decision? sometimes... not really.
will i go back to school? probably in the future when i actually want to learn something.

pierceman: your in a nice position, and your only 4 years older than me bought a house, married gonna have a kid, escalade...

i'm still getting there, when i'm 25 i should have my house and another sports car...no marriage till i'm 28 atleast.. ahha i want my to do more stuff before i'm married...like travel etc..maybe i'll go with gf... who knows

car + helping parents + insurance + spending money + other = about 50%, other 50% go to savings.. i don't think thats that bad...

91 240
88 rx7 turbo II
96 240

all sold, cept the 91 240 (totaled), someone hit me runing a red light.. the very next day my jdm tail lights/sway bars/coil overs/bushings all come from the mail , oh well, made money off parts.

I was just browsing through some of the previous posts again. It still amazes me how young some of you guys are and able to afford a $30k+ car as well as insurance! I suppose I could lie and say I'm 16 (my bf says I look like it... check my avatar) but I'm very proud of what I've done so far in my life. I think that the ones who worked hard for their cars deserve some applause. The ones who had it given to them, I am a bit jealous. But the jealousy goes away when I remember that my sis is a spoiled brat, too, and she has no idea what the value of a dollar is, as long as she can still go shopping. I don't find that a very enviable position at all XD

couple of my friends are getting m3's
jealousy is there, but not to an extreme..just slight...
but then they always talk to me saying wow...you paid for that yourself...and that feels a whole lot better

but yeah, it does feel good, knowing that you yourself can buy something like that

For the record. For all of you spoiled youngin's who had your parent(s) pay for your S2k, it doesnt get any better than that. Congrats and remember "If you can, do"

my 2 cents.

I don't think I would even feel comfortable if my parents volunteered to pay for my car (whatever it was).. I think that paving your own way through life is much more fulfilling in the end, but hey ya never know what you'll say until someone asks you if you want a brand new car

i wonder how many owners under 18 count using their parents money as paying for it. Frankly, at and before 18 a car that stickers out at 32k was as likely as being giving a ferrari. What possible jobs allow you to buy such a car. Some aquantinces of mine sell stuff and drive such cars, but i can concieve of being paid enough money at that age.
